uninstallation

hi, i'm having trouble uninstalling simcity 4 from my computer. i would like to installing deluxe, but am unable to do so while the old simcity is still installed. the game plays, but when i go to uninstall it nothing happens. it's really quite annoying. i don't know what additional information to provide, but if I've missed something crucial just ask. any help would be greatly appriciated

If you still have the CD's, mount disk one and when it asks, choose uninstall.  Failing that, are you using the eauninstall.exe program in the Program files ...\SimCity 4 folder?

If you have a Windows computer, go to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program (a.k.a. "Add or Remove Programs," the name varies on different Windows versions).  Find SC4 on the list and uninstall it.

Oh, and if you have the program loaded under wine you can simply open the menu item

wine>uninstall wine software>SimCity 4 [Deluxe]

i still have all the CDs, and both inserting the disk and clicking uninstall, as well as going through the uninstall programs method result in... nothing. i can't remember if there's an error message or not, i'll try it again in a minute and see, but i don't think there is. it simply just ignores me.

i play deluxe on my laptop, but it's more of a nusiance than playing on a desktop. there's no way i can play it without deluxe and mods/custom content either

EDIT: i was mistaken, simcity 4 doesn't appear in the 'add/remove programs' at all, the only way i can uninstall it is by inserting the disk and clicking 'uninstall' which as i said does nothing

Something is interfering with your system.  I'd suggest you do a deep virus scan, off-line.
