Noisy Fridge

Used to be all I could hear was the fan on my computer going as fast as it's elder butt could go to dissipate the heat. Now that I've upgraded to the Asus M11bb-b06 all I hear is my fridge in the kitchen humming wildly. Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone is looking for a cheap gaming machine pre-built for a decent price this one plays games like SimCity 4 flawlessly with a few tweaks to the target line under the game properties.

I've had Sim 3 running at max settings as well. Great machine for anyone not computer savvy needing a cheap budget machine for games like SimCity 4

Can't be it for $499.99

*Well I guess you could if you built your own but still it would be cutting it close* so might as well buy it pre-built if you are someone like me.

I also recommend these APU A series processors even though the Kaveri is about to come out. The A-10 6700 APU is perfect for this type of gaming. Comes with integrated graphics so no need to worry about a graphics card.

5/5 stars

Since SC4 is basically the only fancy graphics game I play, I don't get excited about any machine as long as it can run the program without crashing too often.  I do play other logic games, but their demands are minimal.

Well I just wanted to make a contribution for people like me who have been playing SimCity 4 on an older slightly dated machine an don't have the know how to get the most out of the game on their current machine. So I just suggested to them that this would be a good choice if wanting to purchase a new machine that could run it above their expectations an leave meat on the bone for playing other games like the Sims 3 an possibly 4 when it comes out. I'm sure it could also play SimCity 2013 if they wanted to go that route.

Edit - Although I guess it would made more sense to title the topic something other than "Noisy Fridge" lol

I play FSX, Assasins Creed, and other high intensity graphics games. I had to build a custom tower that is worth around 2 grand now when eveything is said and done to process what I need. Worth it though!

My old Xbox 360 hums loudly especially when reading the game directly off the disc. My new Xbox One is pretty much silent and it has never once got hot. When playing it I realise just how loud my family and the dishwasher is. D:

Yeah my dishwasher is like a Typhoon coming through the house. I have to turn everything up when it's running.

One assumes that this dishwasher is either an economy model, older than Methuselah, or the installers left off the sound proofing blanket.

I think it's just an old model, it's been here at least six years.

For instance if I'm playing Peggle it ends up like "HMMMMMMMMponkHMMMMMMponkHMMMMMMMponkponkHMMMMMMaaaaahHMMMMMMM".

It's not particularly good, and if I turn up the volume my family get angry, loud noises ingame shock me, and inevitably Kinect cannot hear me so voice commands are useless.

If you think six years is old for a home appliance, you are a victim of consumerism.
