can someone help me fix this bug about the NAM rail switches? they dont have any texture underneath them. not even the default maxis dirt. ive been playing SC4 for a long time but am actually pretty new to the modding part of it. the NAM is a blessing but seeing bare-spots around my railroad switches in my city is driving me bonkers...

Couple things first:

-NAM stuff should generally go in the NAM Support Thread

-Any SimCity 4 stuff should at least not go in the SimCity 2013 ("SC5") section

Completely normal for a first post of course.  Welcome to the site.

Based on the info in your question, I'm assuming that you are using the normal rail textures, and not the RealRailway component (speaking of which, make sure you have the latest version of the NAM.  It was released this January).  The brown wealth textures don't appear beneath ploppable switches, called "puzzle pieces."  There are two options to give railways a universal look:

  • Give the puzzle pieces wealth textures
  • Remove all wealth textures for the whole rail network

The closest thing you can get to the first option is Pegasus's dirt mod for railways.  It leaves a narrow strip of dirt on the sides of the rails (see this picture).  You can pick up the original mod here, and I posted a link to that adds the same texture to rail puzzle pieces.

For the second option (no brown dirt anywhere), use  It also fills in the weird gap in the ballast between the rails.
