Boom-gates and Line Markings on Left Hand Drive

There is plenty of support for changing the driving side on SimCity 4.
I'm using Steam, and luckily for me I was able to initiate LHD with a parameter modification, but I couldn't help notice that the Boom-gates, line markings and even Traffic Lights are all still on the opposite side!

I usually have NAM installed on RHD to match the initial driving side of the game (as this was a test)
Is it normal for line markings and street side props like those mentioned earlier to be like this? Or does the UK version of the game patch this up?

And if I set NAM to LHD with Euro + Australian markings, will this restore the Traffic lights and boom gates to the appropriate side?

I bought the LHD version, and unfortunately yes, they are like this.

To avoid some of this, download an LHD set of traffic lights and use the Euro NAM textures. AFAIK you can't change the level crossings or street stop-lines to the correct side.

EDIT: Whoops, the level crossing gates should change when using LHD. Mine have...is it the Euro textures again?

In these testing times both of you need to specify which version of the NAM you are running.

At the time of testing. I wasn't running NAM.

But if NAM was installed. It would be either 31.2 or 32-PR1

I reinstalled NAM 31.2 on LHD Mode, and enabled the "UK English" locale parameter in Steam Launch Options and noted that the rail crossing textures, traffic lights and Boom-gates were still inverted.

As Fatherted noted above, the NAM doesn't include LHD signals and crossing gates, and while there are some textures/models for the network pieces themselves that are localized for LHD, it's not in place for everything.  If you want LHD signals and gates, take a look at the by Mandelsoft, and the Modular Railroad Crossing Props by jondor.  Both include LHD options and are really quite well done.

Full LHD support for NAM items is something for which we strive, but our efforts on that front took a major blow when our LHD compatibility specialist, who was practically superhuman, left before NAM 29.  The vast majority of the developers on the NAM Team are RHD users.  There's not very many of us who have done LHD compatibility work, and none of us are even half as efficient as our previous specialist.  We're trying to do the best we can, however.

The by Mandelsoft (fantastic mod and I highly recommend it) indeed has LHD compatibility, however you'll find that with the AVE x AVE intersections all the signals face the wrong way except for the turn lane signals (the last post on page 2 of the shows what I'm talking about).  If you can handle that then I would suggest using it to get your stoplights on the correct side in LHD.

Also, the Modular Railroad Crossing Props by jondor also have LHD compatibility, however AFAIK when using Euro textures (idk about the default textures) the stop lines on the Road x Rail intersections are on the incorrect side in LHD.  Also, all NWM x Rail crossings have the boom gates on the incorrect sides (pictured below)

As for me, I've chosen to stick to the RHD version of the game due to these cosmetic issues despite being from a LHD country.  Hopefully all these bugs will be worked out one day but until then you might just have choose what's worse for you:  Having a few glitches here and there or playing in RHD  :P
