Getting Medium Tech Industry

For the processor factory you need 5 medium tech buildings.  I have an area of industrial where I placed a university across the street.  The industry went directly from low tech to high tech without having any medium tech.  How do I get medium tech industry?

Community Collages work better.

Turn off every school (including the Academy if you have one) and build a community college. It takes forever to get the 5 medium tech industry this way. I've seen other people say that tech is bugged and this is your only way to unlock it right now.

You could also try the elite megatower school because they're suppose to be like community collages, but they come with buses.

As industry techs-up you can dezone as they reach medium and stop them going on to high. Once you have unlocked the electronics rezone and they will start moving up the tech tree again.

 

The trick is to get five at the same time, which can be difficult if tech progress is fast.

I'll have to try dezoning once I finally do get a medium to pop up. So I take it it would be easier to tackle the medium-tech issue before you start getting high-tech then? sounds like closing all the schools and waiting for a while would cause a lot of other problems like trash, crime and injuries.

It's easiest if you build a Community College before going for the University.
