O, so I have been playing Sim City since I was 12 years old, a long time, and I guess I just figured out that there are plug ins or mods cams things like that. I am sorry to offend anyone who is more diehard than I at this game for not knowing these things. I have Sim City 4 delux installed on my computer I am not sure I installed every disk of the set though. I am trying to get the plug ins to work such as new buildings and upgrades. I have downloaded a bunch of things but now I need to know how to get them into the game. Can anyone help?

Michael

The base game from disks has the two published patches mentioned above.  Without them, most custom content doesn't work.

For a tour of all this, have a browse through There are also some good articles in the Omnibus.

Can either of you help with getting ride of brown boxes for the on street bus stops? I know I need other dependencies just not sure what they are. Also that update for BAT will not work because I never had the original BAT. Can I get it online or through the Sim City Exchange?

For your bus stop issue, which set are you trying to use? Yes, it's probably a dependency issue, but knowing the set you have would help identify dependencies.

For the BAT update you don't need to install the entire BAT. However, before you tried to install the BAT update, did you first install the EP 1 game patch? All patches (and the BAT if you want it) can be downloaded at SC4 Devotion. Use the EA Support tab on the left side of the homepage.

The EP1 update is right here. For the bus stop and subway dependencies, there should be a link to the dependencies you should download and install in their download page. ;)

The link provided was for the EP1 game patch. Try this link if you don't have it all ready. You'll need to select the proper patch for your version of the game - usually the SKU 1 Update for right-hand drive versions.

As for the boxes on the bus and sub stops, we would need to know what you downloaded to assist with the dependencies. Was it perhaps?

It was the first link for bus stops that you posted. I checked the paragraph and could not find anything on dependencies. I downloaded the EP 1 game patch for my version as well. If you could provide the link for the depen dencies for that first bus stop link that would be awesome. The only other thing I need is the program for roundabouts because they would really help with my traffic issues.

If you are trying to use the RoadTop Mass Transit (RTMT) v3 Installer version, there are no dependencies if you use the Single Prop installer. Be sure you open the Zip folder that comes in the download. There will be three different installers. For the easiest setup, you must run two of them,  the install_RTMT350 and the install_RTMT350_SingleProps_PropSet installers. Do not run all three. This will give you all the stops with the same shelter, signs, etc. and does not have any dependencies.

If you do decide to use the PropFamily version, you must run the install_RTMT350 and the install_RTMT3_PropFamily_PropSet installers. This will give you multiple options for station appearance. Using this arrangement will require SG's Bus Stops as a dependency. They can be found

For the roundabouts, you'll need to get the NAM (). Be sure to read the listing for directions on downloading since it is hosted off site and not on the STEX.

In addition, if you do get the NAM, you might be interested in getting the RTMT3 Addon set (). This will provide stops for the additional networks provided in the NAM package. This does not use an installer, so careful reading of the installation instructions is necessary for proper installation.

If you don't understand what the installers do, you need to learn some more about the file system (NTFS).  Windows has some excellent help files and there is always "Windows for Dummies" which is really quite a nice tutorial.

What you need to do is delete the folders created by these installers, then run the installers you need again.

You could remove the unneeded prop files from the 'RTMTV3/Props' folder, depending on the whether you want the single props or the prop family props. For Single, remove any files with 'APropBase' in the name and any with 'PropF' in the name. Or if you want the Family props keep those and remove those with 'PropS' in the name. To be honest, it's probably just as easy to remove the entire RTMTV3 folder and reinstall, using only the two that you want.
