Mods For Mac

I was wondering if mods for Simcity were going to have to be mandatory on both Pc and Mac, or only on one device.
It would be much easier if mods worked on both as no extra software would be needed on Mac's to make the mod work.
Mods on both devices would allow allow for a pleasurable gameplay.
I will assume that making things Mac compatible is harder than Pc, but there are some programs, such as Maya, that work on both Pc and Mac.
I have now done some research and found that 3d studio max, used by Simtropolis modders, is also available for Mac and Pc, so I hope that they use this to their advantage.
I would like to hear what you think of Community Generated Content for Pc and Mac so that the Maxis team can develop something that works for everyone!
There are many Mac gamers out there, and I am certain that they all want Mac compatible mods.
