Something is wrong with the infrastructure?

This one near Edmonton, which is a long way from the Atlantic rail infrastructure.  Could it be that years of semi-neglect by the track owners is starting to catch up to them or do we really need more pipelines?

Reminds me of a semi-racy joke, but you have to understand the way words are pronounced in Italian.  I'll put it in the jokes column.

Whoof Canada, time to check the rail infrastructure. It's less secure than India's. Although at least it is government funded.

I am not sure that I would bet on who owns the tracks any more.  CN is a crown corporation, but CP Rail is a subsidiary of Canadian Pacific Enterprises, and there are several private RR companies including Ontario Northland whose tracks may well we owned by the Province of Ontario.

There is probably a mish-mash of ownership both from traditional grants and the downloading of infrastructure responsibility that the federal government pulled as a cost cutting measure a few years ago.  They downloaded a lot on the provinces.

If it turns out that that right-of-way is owned by the Province of Alberta, it will be piling ossa on pelion for this fiscal year for them.

    Canadian National's recent troubles.

Probably the worst one was the recent accident with tanker cars carrying anhydrous ammonia.  Such tank cars are weapons of mass extinction.  NH3 is one of the most noxious substances known to man.
