Two Questions

Firstly, when a city gets to 90-100k, how do you deal with traffic? I have a pretty good layout and considering the population its doing ok. However, theres still a LOT of congestion. I have one fully maxed out streetcar depot and no bus terminals. If I add another streetcar depot will it reduce traffic? Should I add a bus terminal?

 

Secondly, my buildings are constantly burning down! My sims are quite educated so not sure why that is??

Umm...add a bus terminal and place bus stops, that should ease the traffic a bit. And your buildings are burning down becasue your fire trucks cant reach their destination in time.

Would buses not add to traffic though and make congestion worse?

Buses can take more Sims than an car.

Yeah I always go over the top with public transport especially busses as the aren't that expensive in the big scheme of things.

Added an extra streetcar depot and a bus depot. Population is now at 125k and traffic is pretty good.

 

A big disappointment though, is that all my recycling trucks all follow eachother. I thought this was supposed to have been fixed after the last update.
