update issue (1.1.638.0)

So, yeah.

I was in the process of downloading the new NAM files when it told me that I needed to update the game. No surprise there, I was expecting that. Download it, update it, good to go...and then I'm told that the game isn't updated. So, I open the notepad, and I see this...

What do you know, the rushhour file (third file down) isn't there. Went to programs, confirmed it. So why did this happen? Is it the CD? Plain bad luck? The CD is part of the SimCity Box, and i bought it at best buy, so I doubt it's illegal. Any help please?

There is no file rushhour.exe in the standard American game.  Are you sure you got the correct patch for your region?

I got the correct patch. At least it said america below, but I'll check out the others. You've got my hopes up again.

If your game version is now 1,1,638 I wouldn't sweat it.

naw i'm upgrading to 638. Should've made that clear

 

Alright, I tried downloading SKU 3 this time. Went through the whole process just fine, but it still has the rushhour file (???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????).

This is truly strange because there is no RushHour.exe, and never has been one.  This could just be a goof by the patch writer.  What was the final version of your game after the run?  Update for EP1 should take you from 610 to 638. 

 

If your original version is 210 (or 2xx) nothing can get you from there to 638 in one jump.  To get from 210 to 610 you need the Rush Hour Expansion Pack.  If this is the case, you would be better off to purchase a digital version of deluxe from Steam which then comes as version 1,1,641 fully patched and diskless.  This same version can be had from non-DRM vendors such as Amazon or GamersGate.
