Traffic Direction and some questions

Hi,

 

is there any way to change direction of driving?

on my avenues, the sims driving on the left side of the road, i want the at the right side... it's very confusing.

 

also, is there a mod to change cities without exiting to region? i often forget to do something in one city and then the loading time is very long...

I know if you have installed the current NAM, you can choose which side of the road you want in the "custom install" of the NAM installer.

 

And, I've never heard about being able to switch cities without exiting to the region first.

ok, i'll try to reinstall NAM with custom insteller...

 

but what about the avenues? it's not NAM feature... and when i connect avenue to another city, it's alwayes drews this little arrowes of direction, ofcourse left side going out...

This will do. Only follow it if you can read and understand English. Since this changes the games language to English.

 

As for the second one, nope. None that I heard of.

Since the other city would have to be loaded, there is little point in being able to switch without popping out to the region menu.

 

We can, however, help you tune your machine to reduce loading time.  Tell us more about your machine in some detail.  Are you running 32- or 64-bit O/S and which one?  What is the version number of your game?

thenx for all the help.... i reinstalled NAM with right side driving and changed game version from UK to US... solved the driving side issues.

 

i'm running WIN 7 64bit with version 1.0 of the game, my system exceeds the minimum req of the game but even loading empty city map takes 30-40 sec... i'm on a laptop that tends to overhit, i guess i need a new gear

Before the tech nerds get to a response, I'll try and let you down a bit easier. Unfortunately, us laptop'ers are a bit of SOL when it comes to utilizing SC4 to it's fullest capability. 

 

It's going to be suggested that you either install a Select 1cpu / Render Hardware / Most likely DirectX

Plus the auto save feature is a most if you're as forgetful as I am.

 

or a tag string attached to your SC4 shortcut .exe line that will do the same as the launcher basically.

 

If you mean v.1 (vanilla) SC4, you'll want to get the Deluxe/Rush Hour version. Even after that, you'll still need a couple more necessary patches to bring your game up to par for using dl'ed custom content. 

 

Running short on time or I'd post more links to the patches, but I know there are plenty of mayors around here that will supply them soon enough.

Doesn't make sense.  My version is 1,1,641,0

Which file are you hovering over?  It should be "SimCity 4.exe".  Version numbers of SimCity 4 Deluxe all start with "1.1".

yup, u'r right... i was hovering the luncher.

 

simcity4.exe says 1.1.638.0.

 

but that's after i installed a patch called "UPDATE_SKU1_TO_P1_B638.EXE" from http://www.ea.com/simcity-4-deluxe.

so i can't realy tell what was the version prior of the update...

 

any ways, i'm playing the game, have a lot of fun... i just thought that a game so old, should load faster on relatively not so old laptop.

You can definitely feel it as your plugins folder grows.

If you want to use night-time custom content you need this patch as well.  From this page, choose only the update to 1,1,640.  You do not need the BAT unless you intend to make your own custom content.
