TV import / export help

Hi - I'm really confused on this.  My city has a huge backlog of TVs / computers developing in both of my trade ports that I can't export.  Therefore, my city's net working capital is rapidly depleting (from 4 million to 1.5 million).  Everything was working smoothly before this weird thing started happening.

 

• Both ports are connected to railways and have 12 delivery trucks.
• Both ports have lots for plastic, alloy, and processors (I have recycling centers / processor production centers, but it helps to smooth supply).
• There is a lot of traffic into / out of my city
• it looks like delivery trucks are coming into my city w/ computers, dropping them off at my trade port, and giving me money
• It looks like delivery trucks are leaving my city w/o anything in their inventory.

What's going on?  I'm so confused.  I've read that it helps to have trade ports dedicated to import / export.  But it still looks like my delivery trucks are fleeing my city, so that (a) I only have 3-4 of my 24 delivery trucks in the city at any point in time, and (b) my production facilities are delivery items to my storage ports, but nothing is getting sold.

Some of the ones leaving may have been sent by the region (basically randomly generated delivery trucks that come to collect from you).

You shouldn't need any delivery trucks for your exporting trade depot/port as the region will send them in to collect resources.

As for importing, your delivery trucks will take the stuff to where it is needed (eg if you import coal and ore your delivery trucks will take this stuff to your smelters).

I dont know if this will help but for exporting I never use any trucks ...

I had a similar problem with a city, the "region" trucks stopped arriving, so I ended up overrun with inventory, bankrupt, and ended up abandoning the city.

Try deleting all of the truck garages and plop down new ones. I've had a similar experience.

I've been having problems with importing lately. I've been importing plastic for use in computers/TVs, and the trucks deliver the plastic to trade depot, but the trade depot never sends them out to the factories. I have to switch it to "use locally". While I have plastic set to "import," I'd have several thousands crates of plastic sitting there doing nothing. And I dedicated an entire depot to plastic and those trucks aren't delivering them right. 

 

EDIT: Actually, after playing a little more today, I noticed that even if I set it to "local use", I still have several thousand crates sitting there doing nothing. Meanwhile, all of my factories are out of plastic. I've sat and watched my city for two days straight and did not see a single truck carry plastic.
