Renaming My City/Region

I know there is a cheat code to rename the city.  However, I can't get it to work. control + x works.  But, I enter the new city's name after whereufrom, press Enter then nothing.  The field stays open with the code and the new name still there.  Naturally, when I look below to see if it worked, the old city name is still there.

 

Does it matter that I'm running Rush Hour off my G5's Super Drive?  It shouldn't, right?  I mean. the Region files are kept in ~/Documents/SimCity 4/Regions...

 

As to the Region: any way of renaming it?  Do I just change the name in the .ini file?  I want to ask before I do that because I put in _a lot_ of hours this week.

 

Bathing?  What's that?

Once you get the Cheat Box open you have to type 'whererufrom' followed by the new city name.  I've done it a few times from poor planning.

If I'm not mistaken you do edit the .ini file region name - gonig by memory here. Just in case just back up your region before you do. Copy/paste it to another location on your computer before you edit it and if something does go bork, you have a backup there ready to go.

Actually all you have to do to change the region name is change the name of the region folder.

Hey people,

 

Just renaming the Region folder didn't work.  Changing the .ini file did.  And, this is where no sleep got me.  I typed whereufrom, instead of whererufrom.
