Simcity 4 crash on startup..-CPUCount:1 not working! :(

Hellow,

I just got a new pc with a i5 quad core and now the game crashes right after startup
every time! i tried the -CPUCount:1 fix but that doesnt work. 

I hope someone can help me.

Forgot to add that it is simcity 4 deluxe and i'm trying to run it on windows 7 64 bit.
Ran it on windows 7 x64 before so it must be the processor. It crashes at the logo every time.

First of all, do you have the game patches?  The .exe file should be version 1.1.640.0 if you're fully patched:

 

 

 

If that's all good, try taking your plugins folder out (if you have plugins) and starting the game--to determine if this is a plugin problem.

 

 

Also, make sure you're adding the CPU affinity correctly.  The command line in SC4 Properties should look like this:

 

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1

 

Note the space between the last quotation mark and the dash.

Thanks but luckly it has been solved. it was a sound card problem. I forgot to install my sound drivers lol

One of the things I dislike about Windows is that it isn't smart enough to self-configure for the hardware and load drivers automatically.
