Night and Day Cycle

Is there any way to make the cycle slower, please? I thought I'd ask Mac users because I have a G5.

The day/night cycle and the corresponding game clock (not the date, which is separate and determined by the game speed) are fixed as far as I know.  I'll take a look with iLive's Reader right now to see if they're mod-able.  I think they might be locked in the game's code though.

 

By the way, such a thing isn't affected by your Operating System.  Mods work the same way for Macs and PCs.

 

EDIT:  Some digging brought me to where someone else was looking for the same thing.  Which led me on a hunt for this supposed mod made by this guy quirlix.  Sadly, if it ever existed, I can find no trace of it anywhere on the internet.

 

My attempts at making a new mod have led to a wall as well.  If there's a way to alter the game clock through conventional modding, I can't find it...

Thanks for all your efforts. Yeah, I was hoping a mod existed, too.  But, no such luck. BTW not all mods work on both systems.  Day n Night doesn't.  That's too bad 'cuz I _really_ wanted to use that one.  Everyone else's turned the game black black black...

Well, all plugins should work for any operating system.  Apparently you're not the only one with the Day'n Night mod problem.  See  Only some Mac users seem to have the problem though, and it hasn't been followed up on.

 

Try using it again, if you're interested, and see what happens.  (Probably would be a good idea to back up your SC4 folder first).  Maybe we can get to the bottom of this.
