What to do with airport crime?

I have a small landing strip with a police station nearby, but it's still causing me a lot of grief in the crime it produces and spreads to nearby tiles (at least Officer Mustache isn't constantly telling me about the "den of crime" around there). Is there a way that I can reduce the crime caused by airport? (ilives reader?)

I looked into

, but I'm not so sure on it since Fairview is pretty compact and I don't want to wipe out most of an established city for an expanded airport.

Alternatively, I could demolish the Fairview airport and create a new regional airport with modular pieces (perhaps up in New Tigerville?) but I'm not so sure on that either.

Try this if you haven't already got it. You still have to have a police station near or next your airport though but it does help alot.

Make road around the airport & put like 2 (3, if you like) large police station next to it. That should reduce the crime.

Along those lines, I generally find that placing a Deluxe police station at opposite ends of an airport does the trick nicely.  This works all the way up to international airports.

Or you can use MattB325s which has a big enough radius.

The idea is I don't want to use a lot of cheats nor place a bunch of stations.

Is it possible to mod the airport to reduce its crime output?

You don't think modding the properties of the airport isn't "cheating"?  My, what a strange thought.

Of course, there is no cheating, there is only using what you know.  The lot could probably be changed using ilive's reader.

As Moose essentially pointed out, this really doesn't leave you with any options, unless a single "cheat" would be acceptable but a lot would not be.

Crime isn't specified on a per-lot basis.  The reasons airports have so much crime is that they're large lots, and police cars can't drive through them.  Other large lots (like the University) have similar crime problems.  Crime levels are determined globally, both by the Crime Simulator, and by the specifications for individual crimes.  Mods such as Crime Does Not Pay work on this level.

For a very large radius police station look up Vu Security on the STEX.

"Cheating" is really a subjective term. On one hand you could think of the NAM as a cheat, seeing as how it expands capacities greatly. I have my own code in SimCity 4—efficient power plants that beat anything the game has to offer? Yes! Money trees? No!

I suppose Vu Security would do the trick for now.
