Flash drive and disc question.

I figure this forum is best for this question:

Since I have my plugins backed up on my flash drive I started thinking (which can be a bad thing sometimes lol :)). I play SC4 with the discs, not downloaded from the net. So I was thinking is it possible for me to down load the game from the two discs onto my flash drive and then not even have to use the discs to play? Is that even possible? That way if something ever happened to the disc I could just download the game from my flash drive. That's my idea anyway if it can even be done.

Flash drives are not intended for a lot of read/write action.  The images would have to be virtual-CD images and mounted as such for that scheme to work.  In the long run, it would probably be better to purchase the digital download game from Amazon or GamersGate.

The day will come when your play disk dies of old age.  This can be avoided using the digital download.
