City growing question

Hello everyone.

So, I'm making a Cj called the city I've got has some skyscrapers, but it doesn't have the skyline I want to have. I want to have a skyline like New York, but I have one like Rotterdam. Some high buildings, but a lot of low buildings to. There is plenty of demand for commercial buildings, accessibility is good enough and the price of land and attractiveness is very very good. It is completely green. The problem is the turnover, which is very low. Do you have tips to increase it?

Thanks in advance.

Use both the NAM and the CAM, get yourself a big population, and then start planting trees all around the buildings you want to upgrade.

How large is your region population?.  Sometimes a large region population can help in getting the taller stage 8 buildings.

Commercial buildings love traffic noise.  A tactic I use is to funnel traffic from residential neighborhoods through my commercial areas to the industry areas by any and all means.  Run a highway through your downtown an avenue whatever makes a bunch of noise.  Traffic noise is like the fertilizer if you think of your commercial buildings as "growing".

I will build my commercial business district in between my residential and industrial many times to facilitate this.  In very large and populous areas you don;t have to worry about pollution from your industry as often times if you are trying to make the best stage 8 and higher buildings grow they are of the high wealth variety, and as such you will need high wealth residents and as such you will have high tech industrial there so the whole thing will gel together.

All the tips in this thread work wonders, when you put them all together you have instant skyscrapers.  High traffic noise, parks, trees, and high (1 or 2 million+)region population.  Take all of them together and you will have skyscraper developers not just knocking on your door but trying to bust on through it.

I've got a big park in the middle of my city and the commercial part of my city is in between of a industrial and a residential city.

Keep the park, but don't be afraid to shrink it a little at need.  You need it for your CO$$$.
