Question about rock mods

im currently using one of the textures in ENN rock mod set 2 HD: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2104 however i have found that in order to see the rocks i need a slope of around 70 or more degrees, but i have seen some pictures of rocks in other slopes with like 50 degrees, like in the 3rd picture of this plugin:

my question is, what does determine when are rocks visibles on a slope? is the rock mod you use or is there a different mod for that, whats the point of HD rocks if you never see them :P

if its because of the rock mod, could someone tell me a rock mod that does not require extreme slopes to see the rocks?

I'm going to bump this thread because I'd like to know the answer to your questions, too.

You can fix this problem yourself, if you're willing to take a crash course in basic modding:

The MaxNormalYForCliff value is easily edited with the  Start that up, and open your terrain mod DAT file (if you don't have a terrain mod, then download the Diagonal Jagged Edges mod; it contains the same file necessary).

Click on where it says "Exemplar ... Y" in the left pane (there may be more than one entry labeled as this).  It should look like this (click for full size):

Find the value (it's highlighted there) and double-click on it to alter it.  The lower higher you set it, the more often you will see cliff textures.  0.8 would make them show up pretty often.

Make sure you save the file (yes, overwrite it) when you're done.

It's the other way around; The higher the value, the more frequent cliff textures become.
