Oil Well Production

I'm getting irritated at the oil wells.  I had 8 pumps and I was getting 9,600 barrels per day.  I added 2 more pumps and production instantly fell to 7,500 barrels per day.  Is there anything I can do to increase production?

Make sure it didn't shut down due to storage being full. Put 4 delivery trucks as well.

Maybe you just have less oil to pump? My oil City no longer has Oil wells at all, but i got to the point to getting refineries and import oil to make plastic.

I have read from others that you need to build a few trade depots/ports with oil lots to hold the large amount of oil you need at first to reach the really high milestones to upgrade.  Stock up the oil first, DONT sell it until ready, wait until 12AM, then start exporting (make sure traffic is clear for global trucks to come into the city, unless you have a trade depot with cargo or freight trains).  Hopefully, that will then help you hit the milestone within one day.  Upgrade then rinse repeat.

Another reason that the amount of oil you drill goes down (12k per day is the highest I've seen at all my oil wells) is because the less oil in the ground the less you can drill for. If the oil patch is pitch black you will get alot. When that starts to go down your drills will just pull more up, your not doing anything wrong as far as I know

Your Absolutely Right, i was getting about 11k per Oil Well at the end i was getting 400 cause i pumped it all out, but at that point i had my fully upgraded HQ for the refineries. So yeah it looks like your doing fine.
