Demand Problem

Hello, I need some help with demand.

Today I played in an old region that I made a long time ago and demand was very low in this region. I can't get anything to grow but low-wealth residential and low-wealth commercial and medium-wealth commercial. So I left that region and went to play in one of my new regions which the demand for medium and high wealth residential and commercial was very high! Now after playing in that one region all the demand in my better region is the same as the other one!!  >.<

How can I get my high demand like it was before in my new region? Thanks for your help.  :)

When you say 'region', you do mean 'region' and not 'city', right?  Regions cannot affect each other but cities can.

Did you have any plugins installed the last time you played your 'better' region?  Do you have them installed this time?  Plugins will affect all 'regions' and 'cities'.

Have you recently installed any new plugins?

Yes I am talking about a region and not a city. I haven't installed any new plug-ins recently. I don't know where the problem is coming from.  :(

    Thanks for your help  :)

Well when you say demand used to be high, that doesn't mean it stays that way.  Demand rises and falls according to conditions.  Just one or two giant office towers developing can satisfy a lot of CO demand.  When demand is satisfied by development the corresponding demand decreases.

To increase your demand for commerce or industry you need to increase the number of sims you have.  Low wealth sims will just about always move into your town if you have zones for them.  Once you have brought in more sims demand will rise.

Negative demand actually indicates too much zoning has been done for a particular type.  If there is more stores then there is customers and employees, commercial demand would show as negative.  Along these same lines, if your demand for R C I is neutral that means you have things well balanced.  Adding more sims will throw the balance off and create more demand.

Oh ok I see. It just seemed weird to me as soon as I got done playing with my older region and went to play with my newer region demand basically hit rock bottom. Almost all of the cities in my new region, the demand dropped quite a bit and now I can only get low-wealth to build, of course they grow anywhere but I did have a high demand in medium and high wealth. Also my industry is still pretty high and growing but now sims are not moving in! So hopefully I can get my demand at a good level again  :)

It is progressive.  New Sims are always $ wealth.  They get educated to $$ and experienced to $$$ over time.  Remember that a Sim will be about 22 Sim-years old when he gets to be a graduate $$ looking for his first real job.  Some Sims work at $ level jobs and stay as $ level Sims if you don't educate them.  Further you should never allow your R$$$ population to exceed about 15% of your workforce.  Not everyone gets to conduct the orchestra.
