i was experimenting out of boredom and tried to get rid of my residents by cuting all the services, obv. I failed, looks like they love me that much they even increse in density and moved in....

this was going forever ,just could not drop down bellow 15k,was like 20ish before services been cut off,for a moment i actually incresed above orig, number to like 25k. i was also making decent profit with 9% taxes,so if you out of cash just turn off all of services and dont worry about pop. droping much....

it was prolly mentioned somewhere before but think this has to be fixed as soon as posible...

Another fun population number thing is this...

I have a max level arcology.  It claims it is full of 1.02 million people.

No, go look at your region population counter.  In my case, I have 5 towns of varying size and the regional population counter says I have 500K people.

Which is WAY WAY short when you count up all my cities and the arcology.

The regional population counters have never worked. I have cities that are full of people. Region still shows 0 population for the city.

To be honest, the screenshots are not proof. I can build and demolish (or stop) services and say what I want. It only takes one screenshot of a moment, and turn everything back on. An overview of the city will be better.

But, what I found on one of my cities, was that got shared Ambulance, Police & Fire services from the nearby city (that had plenty) without paying any rent. Nor actively sharing the services. They just volunteered and came into the city.

Please note the cities have to be on the same node in the region to do so. A region has many nodes/groups of cities that are separate from another node.

beleve what you want, this was pretty new and small city and i demolished only services and i was runing this thru the period of 1 month(game time) nothing really changed, also some buildings were showing as powered in power filter altho there were no power stations, true is that traffic was coming into city, prolly workers for comm. zone, but they not counting in city pop.

read somewhere if you lower taxes to 0 from the bigining of your city even with no services pop. num will rise and density will rise cos people will move from other cities, will try that later
