Simcity regional play

Hy all,

 

Been playing simcity for a while...

 

What is your opinion on the following:

 

Is it possible to have a region with lets say 3 cities where you specialize each city for a specific task.

 

Let say city 1: Police eduction

City 2: healthcare sewer

City 3: Fire department garbage.

 

Would it work to dispatch all available police cars to the region and have enough coverage for those three cities.

 

I have tried it a couple times but it seems that no matter how much police cars you provide it never realy is good enough for the cities without police station.

 

Would this mean you have to have the basic buildings in every city?

1. Education. It's hard to get students to move, you're better off with a community college or university in your city since it also increases tech level.

2. Police: currently will work for what you want.

3. Healthcare: no, sick sims insist on walking neighbors will only pick up injuries, you're going to want a local clinic.

4. Sewage: easy to have other cities deal with it.

5.Fire, yep you can use regional perfectly even the hazmat team.

6. Garbage: the same, garbage exporting works fine.

I had a grand plan on Recycling...

 

 

I was going to have ONE city in my 4 city connected region be the collection service all the others.

But.... even though I have expressly loaned them out to the other cities, nothing seems to happen.

 

Every morning at 6am the Recycle Truck all fire up. Running around my little town. Return back to the shed and NEVER go anywhere else.

 

I was hoping they were going to bring me recycling materials from all the other cities so I could export them.  But alas....

I dont think you actually get the recyclables from other cities.... they just disapear into the wilderness....

Even if you could get recyclables from other cities, what's the point. I had one city with 4 recycling centers and even that couldn't keep up with the garbage output of one city.

I find the balance of certain trade / service requirements in this game astonishing....

The point was to have a super small population city be entirely a recycle garbage town. The profit was going to come from exporting the recyclables.  The workers are coming from my arcology.

Agreed.  In a large city it is almost better to NEVER introduce your citizens to recycling because for a 200K pop city my 5 recycling centers only picks up about 1/3 the amount.  The left overs each night just end up making my populace believe my town is "germy".

The game forces you to since otherwise it would be leftover garbage which is even worse.

 

They need to double the capacity of recycling trucks, the capacity of garbage a recycling center can hold and how much it processes / hour.

• i wanted the same and the recycletrucks never left my city even when i send them to a other city
• i think that it has to do with the privat region i'm playing in or..???
• does it only work sending when playing with other people?
• is it a bug in the game?
