A simple yet hopefully not a silly question

I like alot of others got the game the day it came out. I sat thru the frustration and still believe someday it will be what everyone wants. But my question is when I change servers, am I suppose to have my cities with me or does the server I play the game on only store that city on that server? For whatever reason I changed servers tonite and could not retrieve my city and of course could not remember what server I was on when building it. Or am I a victim of what everyone describes as rollbacks?

Cities are only on the server where you create them, they do not move to other servers. So what you experienced is normal and expected behavior.

 

It should not be too hard to find which server they are on though, servers on which you have saved cities show a city icon in the server selection list.
