Trouble zoning. I have several of the "recommended" mods installed.

Mods including NAM, NWM, etc.  Mods I found recommended on this site.

So I build the above ground, street level tram.  The tracks run down the center of the street with 2 lanes of road on either side.  With these tiles, I am unable to "point" new buildings towards the new tram/road tiles.

Am I making sense?  How do I fix it?

Thank you.

I noticed that too, so I ended up dumping my trams.

What did you use instead?  I'm afraid I will have to do the same thing.

I just opted out of the trams and went with the 6 lane 2 tile wide Median less avenue and lots of well placed buss stops. I liked the Idea behind the Tram, but in the end there was just too many problems to enjoy it.

Using the control, shift or alt keys while zoning can solve your problem. Do try them, it also took me a few years before I discovered I could use them (and now I use them all the time)

This problem occurs with all transit enabled tiles from tram on street through to tram in avenue.  Using the control, shift or alt keys are good for zoning industrial or commercial but do not use for residential zones, they will not develop!  (It would be nice if the NAM team could address this issue.)

The control, shift and alt keys work for all zones, I use them all the time (and especially for residential) :) If they don't develop, there should be another reason for that, I'm afraid.

The only reason zones don't develop at all is that their occupancy arrows are not pointing onto a street or road.  Otherwise the building on lots is dependent on the simulator, mostly the demand levels.  You cannot build adjacent to a highway (pointed at the highway).  If you are having trouble with GLR try dragging a one way road over the existing roadway; in the traffic direction, of course..

Personally, I like to use the GLR networks as an upgrade. First I use avenues and zone normally; after the area gets built-up and traffic gets heavy, adding trams to the avenues and roads can bring relief. This way the existing buildings aren't affected (unless they're blocked by a new tram stop) and I can plan a more effective tram network before beginning the tedious task of placing it.

You may not be interested, though, since you've already placed your network. Either way, CTRL/ALT/SHFT should help you place your R and C zones.
