What is the maximum time of inactivity?

I've read somewhere that you may lose the city if you don't play it for a longer period of time. How long does it take before the city gets "abandoned" status? Does it affect only public regions or private ones too?

There is no limit, which is a major problem with multi-player games.  They leave after one gaming session to never return ruining the whole region.

 

Hopefully the devs put a timer on the cities, but since there has been no real game patches in over a year, I seriously doubt there will be any more fixes coming.  Which is sad as there a tons of minor fixes that could be implemented if they focused on the small stuff for just one patch.

 

It's really sad too, as MP works the best and is the most enjoyable part of the game, longevity wise.
