Simcity 5 or Simcity 2013 freezing and crashing

SimCity has been crashing for me randomly after 1 minute or so. It only started happening in the last 2 days.

I cannot even log into EA answers because I get an error ' This service is temporarily unavailable'.

 

Wow what a mess. I don't know what triggered this but thinking its one of the updates.

 

I have a GeForce GT540M and it was playing it ok with medium settings before.

 

Anybody facing this issue?

Nope. I play fine both at home, and from my laptop at work. 

 

Hope you have upgraded to the latest origin client & game client yes?

Yeah, I've had this issue since one of the new patch updates, maybe since 1.5 or 1.6. Crashes a lot. Not sure where the error lies, unfortunately. It really sucks cause I get in a groove, and then BAM, back to the desktop. On Win 7 64bit with a Geforce something-or-other. I'll try upgrading all my drivers this evening.

I couldn't deal wit it anymore. i just had my money refunded from Amazon. Will try the game in 6 months if they fix it and make everything better. Not worth wasting my time over stupid issues they should have fixed.

 

This server thing is a big mess too because in the past if an update didnt work for you..you could roll back. Here its on the server..so everybody has to update and you have to do a lot of testing to make sure nobody is affected.

Since there are so many issues with the game and people are clamoring EA to get it fixed, EA is in a hurry too.

Is your laptop capable to play the game? Do you have the latest drivers? (Nvidia 314 something)

 

Have you sorted your power config to run everything 100% when plugged on power? Do you have stable internet connection?

Have you configured the firewall, when asked, to allow access to origin & sim city? 

 

 

On my laptop when I play at work, I use the open wifi, which routes via normal lines to the HQ in Denmark (from Britain) and from there to the internet. Behind the proxies. And still no issue. 

 

And nothing on my desktop at home, on both hard drivers (W7 and W8)

I upgraded to Nvidia 3.14 drivers last night, seems to have fixed the crashing problem! Win7 64bit, GTX640

I had the latest  NVIDIA performance drivers and got my one city up to 160,000 population 6 days after release.

 

Then i abandoned it and started a new city and city goto to 100,000 and then  started crashing every 5 minutes.

 

Firewall, Internet shouldn't cause a program to freeze and crash. I got good internet. Not sure what caused it.

 

I just got refunded by amazon. Hopefully the game will get better and better and then in like 3 months I will pick it up after issues are resolved and all features are restored.
