The church looks wonderful, the base is greatly improved. Still think it is a pitty that we can't have it without the base, but I will download this beauty if it is released, and I will never mention the base again.

Wow, that church is sweeeet! Looks like an Orthodox cathedral, which I haven't seen too many of on the STEX that I can recall. An excellent addition! Keep up the good work Prepo!

The church is quite final now. I put there some lamps and lights. It might need some scaling, now it's just 3x3 tiles and it's propably more realistic in 4x4 size - it's supposed to be the biggest Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Western and Northern Europe. Maybe I scale it up a bit for 4x4 lot, but left some space so the lot makers can put there their flower pots and shrubs 1.gif

Rendering the building in hi-quality (these pics are low) will take several hours, so I wouldn't like to test it many times.

I second that. I really like the way the red walls and the green roof contrast each other. I'm a sucker for architecture like that. But my favorite part of the building is the foundation, how it rises above the road. Is that one piece or is the foundation seperate from the building?

*ehem* tough thread. wow. I personally think that i's perfect, a lot of detail. how about some more close up shots and detailed real life shots of the real building to show people the details. But yeah i think it's perfect.

As far as the criticism, from this community, it's all constructive. you are moving from newbie BATter (which you were really good for someone who was just starting) to Veteren and people expect perfection. so no worries, it's all supportive. good job though, i think it looks great

The nightlights are excellent, very well done, aswell as the rest of the model. And for the size I think you could easily scale it up a bit, 4x4 would be more appropriate for this church.

Prepo: Wow! now this is grand project! So much details and the night lighting really gets my attention; it brings the model, right to life!

I found some of Your BATs by coincidence on the STEX looking for east European buildings, and I must say they are indeed looking good.

What I like the most though is that You bring the Nordic look to the game, this I appreciate very much as I am Swedish myself.
Any plans on doing a Stockmanns mall?

My new project is the Pori City Hall, also known as the palace of Junnelius. It needs some work on backside and details. Side of the lot will propably be 2x4 tiles.

I didn't remember that Pori had such a beautiful town hall. I would like to make something from my native town Oulu - I even should have good photos...

Looks great so far, indeed 44.gif and the best thing is that I know... no, I'm sure that it will be perfect when finished. Will be a nice addition to our W2W cities 19.gif

Here is an update. Testing with other w2w buildings. Is the sidewalk distance ok? I used the same as JENX Paris buildings.

The building is almost finished, it just needs some rain pipes and stuff like that...

The real-world building has a door on the other end, so I left a small alley there, or what do you think? (see the picture below).

Those buildings really make myself feel as if I were in northern Europe....Again great work on this highly detailed building and the lighting is what really gives it that spice...

Great job and keep these masterpeices coming!44.gif

Here is one of the techniques I use in my buildings:

I photoshopped this texture and used it on floors in the Pori City Hall and in the glass building earlier on this thread.
    kerros2og.jpg
As you can see, some of the shadows and the furnitures are just fake. This way it takes much less time to render (compared to making real 3d models). All the lights inside the building are omni lights.

Thanks so much Prepo, I think I am getting hang of it now, I will test if I can already apply your techniques to my Villa Carlotta - it is too empty - just waiting for somebody to move in...

Great idea, it was the furniture inside the building that almost killed off my last BAT.

That technique with the floor texture got me thinking ... if you're using 3DS max you could take that texture and apply a displacement map to it to make the furniture stand up from the floor ...

that really makes me thinking of getting 3DS Max - but it is so expensive to buy (3500 EUR in Belgium)
