Hi, first I'd like to say I'm a mac and simcity 4 newbie and this is a great forum.
I was wondering if there is a way of listing the proper way of installing props ect. on a mac, without scrolling through multiple pages. although the directions are good each file is installed a bit different and it takes some time (if even one item is improperly placed it might not work. It might look like this

Applications/Sim City 4/SimCity Data/Plugins folder (a list of any new folder names needed and the dat names of what goes here and any specific folders)

Documents/Sim city 4/SimCity Data/Plugins folder (a list of any new folder and sub folder names needed and the prop names of what goes here and any specific folders)

Or possibly a few snapshots showing how a fully completed folder should look even if one does not desire to load all of them.

I'm only asking since it seems one could download or make new ones and then simply cut and paste them into folders made in advance.

    Hello and welcome.

I'm currently working on an omnibus article on exactly that. But, until then, here's what you need to know.

Mostly, the organization of your folders is entirely up to you. You can put BATs and MODDs in whichever plugins folder you wish and you can divide up each of them into sub-folders in whatever way you wish. It's up to you.

However, and this is important, some BATs and MODs have special instructions on precisely where to put certain files. Be sure to follow those instructions to the letter. Read all readme files and install only one BAT or MODD at a time and then test it. That way, if one of them causes a problem with your SimCity, you know which one it is.

That should get you going to begin with. Hopefully, I will have my Omnibus article finished by the time you have more questions.
