Can run the game ONCE per boot, any workaround?

I boot my pc, I can run Sim city, when I close it I can't run it anymore, I hit "play" and the system loads the game in the processes but it doesn't start. All I can do is reboot and then the game starts up fine, until I close it then I have to reboot again if I want to play again. It's going on since a couple of days, used to work fine before.

 

Any other with a similar issue?

What do you close down - just the game?

 

When I launch SimCity it's done va the SimCity icon on my desktop and not through the Origin (although it will need Origin to be up).  Doing that has meant that I can restart SimCity multiple times per boot (try this wihout closing down Origin).

I'm having the same exact issue. I run the SimCity.exe executable through steam so I can use steam in-game. I've tried disabling this but I cant still only run once. Hopefully someone finds a fix before too long. The process starts ok and I hear the game audio, but no video or even a running window for it. Only option is to reboot.

You need to disable any overplays from programs such as MSI afterburner, FRAPS, RIVA turner ect. and EVEN the Origin overplay it self.

 

( origin. application settings, In game, untick Enable Origin in Game)

 

P.S. If your using any of the above programs you can turn them back on after the game starts, just alt tab back to windows.
