Hi guys I have several questions to make you pro advisors! :D

Even if I played a lot at Simcity 4 I feel always like a newbie at this game.

I feel sorry if screenshots are in italian... hope you'll understand anyway by matching my sceenshots with your game.

I took the first region as an "extended tutorial" and took two cities: norwich hills (as working city and of course for resources) and clearwater (as dormitory).

Problem is that in Simcity 4 was easy connect two cities and let the simulator do everything else... now I feel really disoriented with this new game.

In norwich hills (NH from now on) i planted several factories and a medium-huge residential quarter with some shops on avenues; then switched to Clearwater (CW from now on) and built an extremely large residential zone, several shop areas along the avenues and planted in a corner a small factory area with a coal power plant that gives power to CW and, moreover, to NH.

I planted two rail stations to link the cities and hoped that loads of commuters used it to go from CW to NH but by this way, I got only tourism from NH (with few shops) to CW (thanks to the great commercial zone); more over as you will see in the shots, these stations are pretty full. Any idea to reduce the users since there aren't customizations? Add more stations?

By the way I even added an airport in NH so that stuff'n goods are dropped to CW since in the factory city there are few shops and then no use of goods (means that my commercial stores are always filled) and these are correctly exchanged; on the other hand you'll see in screenshots that commuters aren't going from CW to NH and I really don't know why.

Please help and answer as much simple as possible since I'm not english and this game is so painful! :D

I think you have too many unfilled jobs in both your cities for workers to need to travel to another city for work. I notice that Norwich Hills has almost 2,700 unfilled jobs (vacancies) and Clearwater has nearly 1,700.

I'd recommend you either zone a lot more residential if you want more workers in a hurry or (and this is the better option in my opinion) wait a few in-game days until your residential density has increased.

Either way, you'll need zero unfilled jobs (in fact you'll need a lot of unemployment) in one of your cities for workers to commute to the other.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

    Hi AshTym, thanks for answering.

I tried to increase my residential zone in Clearwater (the dormitory city) and even plant parks to increase land value: all i got is more dense buildings.

By the way, increasing the residential zone increase also the unfilled jobs and now I reached 20.000 people, almost 26.000 but can't keep those. I reach 26.000 and then drop down to 20.000.

Really can't understand why: I have hospitals, fire depot, police, schools, trains, trams, bus etc.

Last question... since I want that Clearwater workers go to Norwich Hill should I destroy the few factories in Clearwater?

    Please help me!

Yes, if you take away all non-essential jobs in Clearwater you should have considerably fewer unfilled jobs, meaning your workers will be more likely to commute to Norwich Hill. You don't necessarily need any industrial zoning in Clearwater at all. It would be best to destroy it all, in fact.
