Highway Interchange Help

After years of avoiding the RHW and most of the NAM stuff mainly because of time constraints on learning how all the features work I have been given the motivation to learn how to use this stuff after upgrading to NAM 31. But I'm having trouble learning how to make certain intersections work. Here is the link to the map of an intersection in my hometown of Alexandria, LA. I have a very detailed region of Alexandria I found on the STEx sometime ago and would like to duplicate as much as I can and with the NAM I feel I can get very close.

So a little help would kick-start me here. I have been working for several days now and can't come up with the right combination of tools to make this work.

The biggest issue I'm having is where the two-lane one way merges with a two-lane oneway then it widens to three lanes as it heads north and splits into two two-lane one ways one curving to the left and the other staying north. If you have any questions concerning this interchange please ask. I really want to learn how to work all the pieces of the NAM/RHW so I'm not looking for others to do the work for me but if I could be shown how to make certain pieces work then I could take it from there and continue to learn.

Bear with me everyone. I am new to all this picture uploading stuff. Here are three pictures from the map screen of the areas I'm having trouble with:

 

This is the south intersection where the two-lane one-way merges onto the main two-lane heading north. You can also see where it almost immediately widens to three lanes.

This is the north split where the three lanes split with the left lane going west, the center lane going north and west and the right lane continuing north.

 

This is a zoomed out photo of both intersections.

I use NAM but not RHW and I've learned a little fun tricks here and there but still it limits on the modern day intersections... I wish there was more to choose from or even make custom intersections instead of the defaults that were created.  Hopefully one day there will be something like that

A great tip that has come in handy is looking on youtube for NAM or even simcity rush hour roadways and seeing how people create their roads...if that helps

Thanks Michael. I have looked on youtube and found some tutorials that have helped me learn some things but nothing yet to show me what I need to know. Thought with all the great cities displayed here that someone who is really into the NAM and RHW could lead me in the right direction. I may not be able to do what I need with the NAM or RHW. Anyway thanks for the input.

To get answers on RHW, you would be better off asking The people in that area are the implementers of RHW and should be able to address your problems.

 

Also, don't bump your treads.  If anyone can answer your question, they will.  This is a large, busy international board and has been having serious problems with overload due to the number of hits from Sim City 2013 being just issued.

Most of these intersections are too specific for use to build usable pieces for. We try to look for more generic intersections...

Thanks for the tip Nonny. I was wondering what was going on as it has been hard the past few days to get on. Didn't mean to add to the congestion. I will direct my issue to the RHW thread.

I had a feeling this might be the case. I'll just have to make what is available to me work. It might not be exact but I think I can get it close.

Have a look at the RHW Interchange Guide (link in my signature). It should help give you pointers on how to become a better RHW builder!
