Is this how recycling centers work?

Do recycling centers work like this:

The trucks come in with the recyclable goods. Initially, those goods are just generic recyclable.

Then the generic recyclables are "converted" into plastic, metal etc depending on the lines you

installed. If you have 4 plastic lines ALL the generic recyclables are converted into plastic.

OR does it randomly convert a percentage of recyclables into plastic? (or whatever lines you have.)

just like it works in real life.

Thanks! I take it they are buggy at the moment then.

I've been running a processor factory but it keeps running out of alloys and plastic to use because the recycling centers aren't producing any.. well, very, very little... even though I have 2 centers setup to process just alloys and plastics.

I play on a non-english version, so dont know the exact wordings.

But have you remembered the Recycled Collector trucks, so that you gather the recyclable material faster.

I have 1 center with 3 plastic converters, full on the trucks. And it is able to keep one processor factory at full load...

Keep in mind that recycling centers don't seem to work during night time, so if you rely on materials from them you need to stockpile them during daytime to keep the factories running 24/7

    This is very true.

I believe that is only the core infrastructure ie PD/FD/Healthcare, that works nights aswell... (and power/water ofc)..

I believe that is normal behavior. Supplement your recycling centers by also importing plastic and alloy to keep the processor factory running.

They are definitely buggy, but only under certain conditions. Full explanation:
