Streetcars Bugged?

As you can see i have covered all my low and mid wealth area with streetcars. But most of my residents ignore it and commute to their work with cars. What is wrong with this picture?

Of course. 9k of 80k population is using street cars with 17mins wait time. But that is so few. Most people go to their work with their own cars. Something is not right.

Don't know how transportation works in this new SimCity but it sounds realistic.  17 minutes wait time sounds like a long time, I'd take my car too if I had to wait that long AND if it were quicker to get there with my car accounting for the wait time.

The only public transport that gets heavy use seems to be park and rides. My guess is it's a bug with the "closest available option" AI.

It does seem to be a bug in the AI pathfinding, however I have seen up to 30% with 0mins waiting for my cities...

This could only be archieved with the help of bus' and enough trams.

 

The issue right here, could actually also be because of the unrealistic high number of stops. As in, if there is not enough trams, then ppl will get tired of waiting, because it will feel like it never comes around to that stop...

Also, each stop increases the wait time... Remember that...

 

I personally, never place them that close, as each stop (tram, bus, schoolbus signs) have a rather large radius...

I didnt find them to reduce traffic at all.. I have them in place full equipped, but I shut  them down. They were costing too much, and having them off didnt result in any increase in traffic.

I think we will need to wait for the AI pathfinding gets updated..
