Goes back to short scenario

This has happened a couple times where I've built a city, closed it out for the night.  Came back the next day to play and it doesn't say to resume play, it's back to that tutorial play.  

 

Am I not saving it properly? Am I missing something??? Very frustrating..

Here's a few things to try..

 

The cities might be there after the tutorial.. I know a couple of times I've launched the same server to have the tutorial pop up again, and after a bit of panic I discovered my cities were still there after all.

 

Are you joining the same server? Your cities are only located on the server they were built on; you can't transfer them.

 

As for saving, just make sure once you quit, you don't touch it when the pop up window shows up saying it's syncing your cities. It'll quit on its own once it's done.

It was probably the server one. I remember when it was down I was clicking on the other servers and probably didn't go back to the right one!
