    The MailQuick Building

MailQuick has gone up the ranks in package delivery services... and is about to make a move on the ever-present UPS.  To do this, the company managers decided to construct impressive headquarters as a statement to the commercial world: ...41.gif...  ...34.gif... ...23.gif... ...24.gif...

Oh, well, umm, they haven't really chosen their slogan yet...

ANYWAYS here is the start on the model... a CDI_spy design... as you can see, the basic shape is done... looking to delve into the important details as phillipbo's tutorial calls them... making each basic box or cylinder a bit more textured the 3d way, like carving out windows, overhangs, little side corners... stuff like that.

    What has been done:
    - carved out cylindrical towers into razor-style
    - created the window frames on the corner towers
    - improved the transparent glass texture on the 4th floor mall gardens
    - added skywalks between towers

     <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//MailQuick%20Building%203.bmp width=441 align=baseline>

    Next steps:
    - creating custom textures
    - search for existing textures on the net
    - improve the rounded corners (green)
    - going to start working on the rectangle fa

yes, it's your friend Yatagan_L commenting on the work, well done! (do you intend to keep the inside open, or will u close it?) i got a brand new design on paper waiting to be transformed into a masterpiece! (no details left out, except if the render encounters some size of the file problems!2.gif)when i'm free (in about 2 weeks with my present schedule) ill start the project! Good luck with that starter!

It will be open like that, to allow the some sunlight to reach the glass-enclosed garden at the bottom.

    What has been done:
    - worked on the base/mall... exterior patio for one of the restaurants
    - smoothed the exterior corners and created softened, rounded, interior ones
    - made a spline window frame outta the rectangle fa

Yes, it's me Yatagan_L posting up one of my own buildings on this thread! (finaly free!!!3.gif46.gif and sooner than i thought!) so this is a hotel (named Atajanabouboun (i couldn't think of an name, so there we go!)), only done like, 1 third of the basic shape, gonna have a bit more space for rooms (four stars and breakfast in bed!) and balconies (excuse the spelling if it's wrong!) the atrium is going in the bottom right of the shape you see here and an other wing is going to be added. Approx 194 meters, oh, and yellow glass (just to be different!3.gif34.gif)

How about doing a really weird Post-Modern train station? I've been on this Post-Modern weird thing since starting the Portland Building. It'd be cool to see how Post Modernism could be applied to a transportation structure.

I promise I'll get off the PoMo thing as soon as the Portland Building is done! 3.gif

great idea! i'll think about it, great idea, i was just thinking this morning about growable houses and commerce that would just float in mid-air (hover-buildings), would there be any demand or interest in this kind of building?
