parking garage: what's going on here?

I don't get it, there are only 1,800 ppl arriving by car and yet the usage of the garrage says 25,000 people... and when i route query i see tons of pedestrians?

Pedestrians are crossing from the subways through the parking garage to get where they need. That looks like a custom made parking garage, and suspect that they may have flubbed the transit switch so that it is faster to use it than the road. Plus, the way that you have those none road facing subway stations, the parking garage may be the best solution for your traveling sims.

oo i see, my mid-town does not allow subway/bus stops on the main avenues, instead i have little subway donuts in btw 8 buildings, so that ppl can go straight from building to building with no walking... by creating a parking garage with access to the subway donut, people for the first time ever were able to take the subway from anywehre in the city, and get into the main avenue in the middle of town. yay. so that's what they are using it for... cute side note: this single parking garage is generating about 2,000$ per month, i threw down several more and suddenly my budget problems are all resolved

I think that is a bug... because the 20,000 people are just passing thru it, they are not parking a car, so they shouldn't pay the fare. oh well.

Don't worry - the Sims aren't paying any fare. The parking garage is collecting it, but the Sims don't pay it. They have no money (only wealth).

Toll booths work the same way, as well as all mass transit.

Basically, the game simulation does not extend to the Sims' personal finances.
