Mafia, in it's most basical form. I mean really, not that hard.

In case you've never mafia'd before.

In a game of mafia there are two teams, the mafia and the town. The goal of the town is to catch and kill the mafia, the goal of the mafia is to kill the town and not be caught.

How does this work? I will PM you your roles. You cannot tell ANYONE your role or it's no fun.

From here, we will enter the first day phase in which you will discuss in this very thread who you think the mafia is. When you reach a consensus you nominate who the town believes to be the mafia and kill them. If they are the LAST mafia the game is over and the town wins, if not...the innocent townfolk dies. You will not know if they were or were not mafia unless it is a win.

If you die, you may not post until the game is over.

Once the town has used their kill for the day, the game progresses to the night phase. This is where the mafia discusses (in private) one townsfolk they wish to be rid of and well, be rid of them. They then message me whom they have decided to kill.

No one may post during the night phase.

The night phase ends when the GM (me) announces who has been killed and the game progresses back to the day phase once more.

This continues until either all the town is dead (mafia win) or all the mafia are dead (town win)

And remember, have fun!

I'm taking say...8 people? First in first served. So hurry!

This is very similar to "Werewolf," or "Murder." It can be played in very large groups (in person, at least). I've seen games of Werewolf with upwards of 30 people in them.

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level." - Quentin Crisp
"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people." - Aleister Crowley
"No one ever said on their deathbed, 'Gee, I wish I had spent more time alone with my computer.' " - Dani Bunten Berry

pretty much! I'm just testing with a small group to see if this joint is capable of not having it spiral into an ever cascading ball of death and boring.
