The jagged edges of the Pyrenean terrain

Hi!

Having browsed through dozens of old topics even remotely connected to my problem without finding a solution, I decided to post my question in a new topic: I'm using the Pyrenean terrain mod and was wondering if there was a way to fix those jagged edges wich tend to be an eyesore? I've found two mods (Ennedi's and pjot's) that fix this problem, unfortunately, for virtually every other terrain mod except this one. At least the files and ReadMes included in the downloads suggest so.. Am I missing something or the fix hasn't been made yet? Any suggestions on what to do?

Sorry for my poor English, and thanks for your help :}

If you download the tool, it's pretty easy to do some modding and fix it yourself. Once you open the Reader, you just have to open up the "Terrain Parameters" file for the Pyrenean mod in your plugins folder. It should look like this:

Then you just click on where it says "Exemplar Y" (you want the one that has the most text that shows up to the right). In that exemplar, scroll down and find the property called "MaxNormalYForCliff" (it might be kind of hard to find).

Just change the value of that to 0.85 and it will fix the diagonal edges problem (however, a side effect is that more rock textures will show up on smoother slopes).

Hope that helps!

    It probably would hepl if I weren't an idiot :D

    Ok, I've done it 3 times by now, set to 0.85, click apply, and each time i start up the game the edges are all jagged again.. I then go back to the Reader and, when I open the terrain file (zzz_TSC_Orange_PyreneanTerrainHightSnow), I see that the value is back to its original 0.7.. What am I doing wrong?

    edit: never mind, I got it.. I was an idiot. :D Thanks a bunch! :}

    Alrighty, I got it to stick to 0.85 value :facepalm: (actualy it says 0.85000002, despite the fact that I put 0.85), but the edges are still as jagged as they used to be.. Any tips?

    Oh, yeah, you have to click 'save.' :D

    Make sure you remove any other terrain mods/diagonal mods/stuff like that. If it's still not working, I have no idea what to tell you. That method is exactly what the diagonal fixer mods do and it always works for me.

    I changed the same value in my beach extender mod to 0.85 and it's a lot better now.. Higher cliffs are now flat, the lowest ones still jagged, but barely noticeable..

    Thanks again!
