Disabling auto landscaping

Let me explain what I mean: When I place a bridge, it automatically lifts the ground at the start of the bridge. If I demolish the bridge, I have to manually re-contour the ground, which sometimes means that infrastructure (nearby roads and buildings) are destroyed.

Is there a way to disable/turn this auto-contouring/landscaping off?

Sorry, I should have specified. It's for Cities XL 2012 (I assumed it's obvious considering the sub-forum I posed my question )

Over-water roads are good for that. Although they don't form bridges like normal roads, they can be connected to bridges to form a realistic, rising portion of the road without those pesky hills on either side. You can get them here: http://sharesend.com/sarci

Oh, and this mod is for CXL btw, not SC4. People should indeed look at which forum they're posting in before they do so.
