Why is this site constantly down?

Is this site being run on some old 386 server in someone's basement or what? Many times I can't access this site b/c it's down what gives?? Not only that this site is also very slow a majority of the time I'm on here.

The webmaster does own the server, but I can assure you it's not a 386. As noted on several other threads today ( and ), there's been a bot attack barraging the site. Sites that offer a lot of downloads like this one also tend to go through bandwidth like crazy (several terabytes per month), so it makes it that much more noticeable.

I know it's been frustrating, and I do apologize for the ups and downs. No, it's not a 386 hosted in my basement (oh those were the good ole days, eh?) It's in a dedicated server at a datacenter in Washington, DC. We've been dealing with a bot attack the last 36 hours, the server team is working with me. Please be patient, and things will get more stable again. Thanks for understanding!

I am afraid its the poppy syndrome. The troublemakers look for any site (poppy) that sticks its head up and try to lop it off. They are the acolytes of mediocrity.

Some taggers are artists, but most are just "me too" types. "A man's ambition must be small who scrawls his name on an outhouse wall".
