Terraforming - No Snow

I didn't know where to put this. In the terraforming mode before establishing the city, mountains can be created. When the peaks are high/steep enough, snow shows up. When I played SC4 on my mac, it worked, but when I moved it to my PC, it doesn't show up. How do I get it back?

You just need to type in the cheat code "snow", and it should show up. Of course, I am talking about Maxis default terrain, and you need to type it everytime you enter that city tile.

If you were using a terrain mod, then you should re-install it.

Mithrik, Mithril with a k instead of a l, how original, huh?

Then, I want them to start throwing rocks." -- William Adama, Battlestar Galactica

Mods for the two versions of the game are almost completely interchangeable. The only types that aren't are DLL-based tools like the DBE Enabler due to obvious reasons.

As for the OP's problem, most likely problem is that you aren't using the same terrain mod on both copies of the game. Copy the terrain mod from your Mac onto your PC and you should get snow on your PC copy of the game.

Snow will also appear on the mountains if you play on Christmas day during the winter months on the simulator.

If you want seasonal snow just press CTRL+xsnowCTRL+m.  This is a toggle, and it is per session only.
