Hey everyone I have a city with about 150k people, my city opinion polls are high, but my mayor rating has dropped significantly for a long time(In fact, it dropped to the red after I built a new highway). Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it?

Weird.

  • Do you have any of the NIMBY lots (military base, silo, prison, etc)?
  • Have you placed any reward lots?
  • Any parks/landmarks/etc?
  • How long have the polls been solid green with a solid red rating?

With that big a treasury, you may have stepped on something. How did it get that big with only 150K Sims?

There are limits to these counters in a program. I suspect that the treasury counter is at most an INT64 which has a maximum of 2^64-1 (about 1.8 x 1019). Because this is a 32-bit game it may well be an INT32 which gives a maximum of 4,294,967,295 which is more in keeping with the figure you show. The moolah command cannot exceed the limit of the counter, and if a higher value had been given, it may not have been tested, which could result in trouble.

    1)No, I don't think so.

    2)Oh yes, lots of them.

3)In Earth time, since May. In SC4 time, I think mid-80sish.I don't remember

did you look in to the possibility of long commute time?

traffic may be good, but distance from residential to workplace may be far?

Occasionally, certain customs lots become immortal. When a beneficial lot goes immortal, such as a park or landmark, it is possible for the now immortal lot to drastically injure mayor rating. I can only suspect bad lotting of this sort is rare, as I've only ever encountered it with lot, but it is a possible answer as to why your mayor rating is for no reason going to Hell.

The only thing to do is go along your new highway and check for any landmarks or parks that a) disappeared or b) cannot be bulldozed by themselves.

You either have to remove the money tree lot when your treasury gets that big, or it will overflow with unknown consequences. You would be better off using the extra cheats dll's moolah command.

Actually, what I do is when i start a city:

    1)I plop it.

    2)Wait one month(Until it gets to about 4.5 billion-ish)

    3)Then delete it!

Uhhh for most sims, no. This city has a big bus network, and actually some sims commute to other cities. I don't think that's too much of an issue.
