NEWBIE QUESTION! Signposts

Is there a mod for signpost variations? One thing I like to do is put up signposts in my big cities to easily locate specific items such as a particular subway station or school in an effort to monitor progress. Obviously I can get overwhelmed with signpost if I wanted to monitor more.

What I'm looking for is something that would be multiple colours. Each colour you could designate for an aspect. Example being. Red signposts would represent everything medical and green for all your schools. I would want to be able to go into the signpost menu and select the blue signpost to plant at a subway station, label it. And each time going forward when I click on the blue signpost, only the blue signposts are displayed on screen..

Is there something like this or is it a feasible concept? Would it be difficult to create something like this or do I think too much?

One other question if I may, am I correct in assuming that If I make something historical, it will remain and not re-grow as something else. Same if I just plop a business, it will not re-grow, correct?

    Thanks

Plops, regardless of with/without jobs, CANNOT regrow.

    The city lay red...
    Flaming and broken...

Then he exited to region, reloaded, and it was fine.

The functionality you are requesting isn't possible within SC4's modding architecture. The in-game signs are purely for your reference, they have no effect whatsoever on the game itself.

As for your second question, making a building "Historic" will indeed stop it being grown over. Ploppables don't occupy placed zones and cannot be made to occupy placed zones, so they will not be grown over.
