Anybody excited for this game? It comes out October the 23rd and it looks really good.

It's set in Colorado during the early fall and there are like 206 roads and hundreds of miles of roads. I've seen some gameplay footage and I'm kind of impressed. Some of the cars they are revealing are nice too, like the S65 AMG.

I just love interview and really love when they talk about the map and milage!

GamesBeat: You were saying that it’s a pretty large world. Do you have some exact mileage?

Greenawalt: No. I mean, there’s hundreds of miles of road. It’s a huge amount of square mileage. But I don’t have the exact numbers.

GamesBeat: Do you know how long it takes to drive across the world or anything?

Greenawalt: Well, it’s kind of curvy. [Laughs] One side to the next…no, I just haven’t tested it that way. For us it was really about having the right amount as you’re playing it. We weren’t shooting for a certain size. We just never looked at it that way. Basically, we were adding roads based on what kind of experiences we wanted to give people, regionally. We planned out the regions first, like Red Rocks and Snowy Mountain and Vale, all of that. Then the density of roads and how big those areas had to be was based on driving around in a white box world — that’s a world with no skin — to have the right amount of “Yeah, OK, I’m still driving. I haven’t seen everything yet” so we could get a lot of hours of gameplay out of it. :D

It's just amazing imho. I found some nice gameplay videos, this being pretty nice:

and I have to say I'm impressed with the open world. There is just so much building, flora and terrain diverstiy, especially since this is a game with over 206 roads, hundreds of miles of roads, and lots of square miles. Most large open world games are under-detailed or look sorry(looking at you TDU2), but this game is seriously an exception. It might kick NFS HP(2010) to the curb for me, since I enjoyed the 100+miles of road and scenery. It's amazing how it all turned out, the roads and countryside just look so natural imo, like real. I think I'm really in this for the free roaming.

But, the cars are awesome too, they've got an S65 AMG, a powerful 2013 GT500, a Yellowbird, etc. And the racing- well I thought racing was fun in Forza 3 and in 4 it was really pulling me in. Racing in Fora Horizon should not be tha different. And if it still is similar to 4, that would be great, not only do I get a great selection of cars and roads, but there is also realistic handling that is never that boring, unlike TDU2. The racing looks fun, hell the game sort of looks like what ProStreet should have been really.

What do you all think of it? I know I'll be getting first week it comes out :D

Surprised this thread is dead, I'd strongly recommend this game, it's out now.
