Hi Everyone out there in SimLand,

I have been downloading a few mods to improve my game and one of these is the JS Dirt roads. All the component appear to be there in the folder and in the Mayor/Parks tab but when I lay them out on a map the image of the dirt roads does not appear there and instead is just a cleared space.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue as I really like the idea of dirt roads through my agricultural areas as this makes them appear much more realistic especially when starting up a new map/village.

Thank you all for these great mods by the way awesome work being put in be so many peeps !!! AAA+++

It's a graphical glitch more commonly known as the "water bug"... There is a couple of solutions explained here and here

You are kind of warned about this in the file description...

Thanks for the quick replies. I have downloaded all the dependance Registered with sc4d. the problem is not the water tile issue as mentioned either, I am aware of what that as and had read the desciption about it plus the way to get rid of it. No, it is the fact that the tracks do not show up when the tiles are placed, the tiles will not match up to each other now , and that they do not function as roads at all to residential or farm set ups

    .

so if anymore advice can be given then please get in touch again. thanks for the replys.

Maybe you could try changing the in-game settings for graphics? Try change city detail to high

the tiles will not match up to each other now

Tried rotating them? Home and End keys on keyboard

they do not function as roads at all to residential or farm set ups

They are not supposed to be functional... There is a 1x3 piece that can be connected to normal SAM-streets, but the rest is simply eye-candy

Check your in-game graphics settings. Textures should be on high.

I have a problem with the dirt roads. Whenever I place the DR starter piece, the game crashes. This has happened twice so far.

It is possible you have a conflict. Do you also have the SAM loaded?

The transit piece included in the JS Dirt Roads is not actually a starter piece. It is a transit-enabled lot that is placed on top of an existing street or has the street run threw it.

If you're using SAM to provide Peg's dirt streets, be careful not to touch the SAM starter piece to the JS Dirt Roads transit lot. This will cause a crash - a known issue with TEed lots and several NAM pieces. Place the SAM piece away from the Dirt Road section and run the street up to it or lay out the dirt streets and place the JS lot on top.

I'm glad that I found this thread before I make another thread of my own, but I downloaded the same dirt roads and while they appear as they should in the game I can't connect the pieces together to create a long dirt road. I wanna have a long dirt road which runs right around the perimeter of my town with other dirt roads extending to certain areas like various farms etc. I know for certain that I have all of the dependencies since I downloaded each of them after downloading JS's file. This feature is supposed to work in SC4 right?

Actually, I use the SAM textures and the SAM stoppers to control where they go. You can have multiple textures on the same road if you are careful.
