okay so i have Sim City 4 Deluxe. How do i get the stuff i downloaded into the actual game?

It would help to know a little more information.... Have you updated your game with the official patches? Also, what downloads have you tried? It is usually better not to throw in too much at the same time. Try testing things one at a time to make sure each is functional.

i tried to download a couple buildings that had no dependencies. I uninstalled them this morning and restarted my computer, and SC4 worked again.

Could you tell the names of the ones you removed that let the game run? Another note.... Not all downloads will appear in the game menus. These are what are known as "growables". They will not be available in the menus for plopping but only grow in the game when certain conditions have been met.

Something else you might check is the version of the Game's exe file usually located in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps folder. If all patches have been applied, it should be 1.1.640 if you installed from a CD.
