    Hi all, i'm new here so i don;t really know what i'm doing with SC4, i have Sim City 4 Deluxe and i was wondering, can i have a city devoted to a single zone type like 1 city residential, 1 city commercial and 1 city Industry? and then just link them all together?

    Thanks

    Well... you could, some people say it is the best way to play... I wouldnt recommend it myself... you see I tried it, but then, you are limited to what the other cities demand... let me give you an example:

    A= Residential

    B= Commercial

    C= Industrial

    A depends on C for jobs, but at the same time, B depends on A and C to grow... So if A doesnt grow, B wont grow, which means that C wont grow either. Now, if A grows, then it will need jobs, which are foound at C, which will grow until it satisfies demand from A and will stop once it is reached.. .and so on and on and on... AND ON! :D so... my advice would be to play a mix in every city, since you are not doing any recreation in particular, there is no need to follow a pattern or to divide possibilities... just mix it... and make every city independent.. until you get some experience with the game, and then... try new styles...

    but of corse you can thats the whole point of the region system (and the best part!) Pollution dose not travle between the two tiles so you can easly start a region with two city tiles, one residents/comerence/high tech and next to it dirty industry.... it works try it!

    I wouldnt Consider it.

    what?!? sc4 (unlike sc3k or 2k) one city cant survive in sc4 i tried and i always end up with constent problems, granted it dose take special planning and LOTS of patients. also not to mention (with out nam) sims who travle accross borders will automatically have the status of "Long" commute time. hell i have sims travleing over 3 tiles but to accomplish that you must have a VERRY effecient mass transit

    Good luck at trying some new stratagies!

    I am not afraid to push that glowing red button

    I survive April 2011 PlayStation Network downed services

    I could tell you those nuclear codes, but i would have to kill ya as well
