Returning to Simcity 4 after 5 years

I have always been a huge simcity fan and i've recently reinstalled simcity 4+ rush hour, it scared me as it turns out i've not played it since 2007 which is a bit shocking but my life has been very hectic these last few years

Anyway what saddened me (i am sure it is old news to you folks) is that the simcity 4 website is gone!!! I used to use map terrain generator a lot! now I have no idea where to go, I done google searches etc but I can't find anything and it seems more complicated than I remember.

can anyone give me a good source download greyscale bitmap images to create regions again either premade maps or ones where can generate real world terrain

You can find truckloads of maps right here on Simtropolis, simply click on "ST/Exchange" => SimCity 4, select the category "Map" and enjoy a selection of apparently next to 3,000 maps if the automated count is correct.

well welcome back, you cane go to many websites, but like the one said above me, but if you are looking for big city map go to the same place T Wrecks said and then sort it by downloads, so you can find a lot of good maps and big cities that way.....

If you enjoy generating your own gray scale maps, you only need download the by Greyveil to get a wonderful tool that will not only generate random maps and the necessary config.bmp files, but allow you to reload a map after you have tweaked it to see how you are doing without having to render it. If you enjoy working with the gray scale maps to produce rivers and special land features this is the tool for you.

All my published maps are generated with this tool.

You can put the game down, but you'll always come back! This game is almost ten years old now and even still people are creating more addons and mods for it. You know it's a well built game when, almost ten years later, it's still being played, and created. It's not just a few people, either, but thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people play this game. I will always love SimCity.
