Does anyone know how wide a train should be if I am making one in the BAT? There is no information on how wide the train tracks are that I can find.

Unless my civil engineering education has failed me, I believe that the standard track gauge is 8 feet 4.5 inches. It is my belief that most of the tracks in the world use this width.

Best of luck!

You got the numbers mixed up, standard is 4 feet 8,5 inches, or 1,435 meters.

But SC4 does not use real world standards. Train tracks in SC4 are 3 meters wide, or even more.

Yeah you're right. Thank you.

The "gauge" in SC4 is... 2.0 meters! So is the distance between tracks too. For example, the "path" of the rail automata are at ±2.0 meters off centre. Train automata are just short of 4.0m (at some certain points they may even slightly exceed this).

If you want to make train automata (as opposed to props), you cannot use not gmax/BAT, but instead other 3D modelling programs.
